Rees off to good start

The new premier of NSW, Matthew, um, sorry, (how soon we forget) Nathan Rees, has done his requisite shuffling of the deckchairs, and has banished one of the most unpopular ministers in living memory, Frank Sartor, to the backbenches (hooray!)

A chastened (read 'dumbstruck') Mr Sartor reckons he will be missed.

Not by me he won't!

The purging of those with delusional tendencies from government ministries is always a good thing; far better, however, that they never be elevated to such positions in the first place.

Frank Sartor announced that leaving him out of the cabinet was a mistake...he may have a point, but only if he can divert the dodgy donations for favourable planning outcomes away from the ALP' s bank account and in to the New South Wales budget.

Meanwhile, shuffling the deckchairs is right. Eric Roozendaal as Treasurer and Joe Tripodi as Finance Minister. Two of the long-standing failures get control of the state's finances, and can now confirm that Morris Iemma was wrong when asked at his "going away party/press conference" if Michael Costa's assessment of the state's finances was accurate, and he said "no".

I pity those of you in New South Wales as you have to wait until 2011 to remove the incumbent nutters (unless they all resign first)...here in the ACT we get to vote against Jon Stanhope's Incompetent Circus in a month or so.

That said, if Jon Stanhope wins again, I'm declaring Canberrans insane and moving to Perth.i
